Interesting story about this song… The first time I heard it was when I was working at Control Room. It was at the beginning planning stages of Live Earth and there was a promo video that was created to get various people of influence involved with the event. This was the song that was most prominent in the piece and the first time I saw it, I got choked up. And it was only the instrumental! Subsequently, I’d listen to it on repeat when I went to bed sometimes. It’s obviously a gorgeous song, but it also so incredibly sad. I don’t know why, but I find it to be among the most moving songs I’ve ever heard.

this is awesome – really unique.  Vocals create a Roxy Music image for me.

How It Ends – Devotchka

Fred sent me an email last night. He said since I love Beirut I should head over to the Hype Machine and check out Devotchka.

Their sound is really powerful and I already have fallen for a few tracks on the first go around. Thanks Fred.
