Something about surf films and the ocean in general that hits an emotional cord with me. I always wanted to be a surfer, but growing up in Kansas didn’t lend itself well to that so I took up skateboarding when I was a kid. I still skate. And I took up snowboarding when I moved to California in the mid 90s. To date I’ve still never stepped foot on a surf board. That needs to change.
